Things to Know Before you go with AlarmTek
AlarmTek previously used cloud-based recording cameras from Alarm.com and other manufacturers until recently. These cameras relied on the customer's internet connection to upload the video. If there was any drop in the internet connection anywhere from the camera to the cloud, clips would get corrupted and disappear. This caused a frustrating experience for customers. Because of the number of complaints, AlarmTek has switched to local 24/7 continuous recording cameras that don’t rely on the customer’s internet connection and provide a much better experience.
All video doorbells are cloud-based and have a small form factor, which causes the Wi-Fi antenna to perform poorly.
AlarmTek doesn’t do contracts. They give the option to either pay for the hardware upfront or finance it overtime.
No, AlarmTek hasn’t been a dealer for almost 10 years and does not sell accounts. They are independent and family owned.
The AlarmTek app is continuously being developed, taking customer feedback into account as it continues to improve.
There definitely was a time when it was more challenging to get ahold of AlarmTek. This was due to two factors: The first one was the amount of growth. AlarmTek has grown from one office to five offices in the past few years. Coupled with the connection issues with the camera, it caused delays in getting ahold of support staff. This has now been remedied with an increase in staff members, as well as eliminating the issues that came with the cloud-based cameras. Customers should find it much easier to get ahold of the team at AlarmTek today.
